Antibody-based tests are used to test whether antibodies to Sarscov-2 have been developed. They can identify people who were not known to be infected, either because they never developed symptoms or because they had mild symptoms.
PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Biosynex autotest COVID-19 is a rapid immunochromatographic self-test for qualitative detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 from a drop of capillary blood. The test consists of SARS-CoV-2 antigens (called RBD – Receptor Binding Domain) associated with colloidal gold particles that can detect IgG and IgM antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. This diagnostic self-test lets you know if you have come in contact with the virus responsible for COVID-19. Biosynex self-test COVID-19 enables the identification of people who do not know that they have been infected because they lack symptoms or due to misdiagnosis of the presented symptoms.

LIMITATIONS:
- It has been shown that Biosynex self-test COVID-19 can begin to test positive about 13 days after the onset of symptoms.
- A negative Biosynex self-test COVID-19 result in a symptomatic person does not exclude a COVID-19 infection.
- If there are symptoms compatible with COVID-19, the negative result must be confirmed by a second test, to be done 11 days after the first one.
- This self-test does not detect the presence of the virus responsible for COVID-19, but rather the immune system response by a patient against COVID-19 virus.
